About Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Using a thin needle, hyaluronic acid based dermal filler is strategically injected to effectively mold the shape of the nose without the need for surgery.
The injections themselves are very brief, ranging from 5-15 minutes depending on your unique treatment plan.
The technique for placing dermal filler in the nose must be extremely precise as there is a small surface area to work with. This also means that any swelling could skew the appearance of your final results, which is why you may be invited for a 2 week review to ensure you are absolutely happy with the finished look.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty, also known as a non-surgical nose job or liquid rhinoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure that involves reshaping and enhancing the appearance of the nose without the need for surgery. Unlike traditional rhinoplasty, which requires surgical incisions and alterations to the nasal bone and cartilage, non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed using dermal fillers.
The procedure typically involves the use of hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers, which are injected into specific areas of the nose to achieve the desired changes. HA fillers are popular for this procedure because they are safe, temporary, and reversible. They can be molded and shaped to create a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing nasal appearance.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is suitable for addressing certain cosmetic concerns of the nose, such as:
Dorsal hump: Filling in a prominent bump on the bridge of the nose to create a smoother profile.
Nasal asymmetry: Correcting unevenness or imbalances in the nose by adding volume where needed.
Mild to moderate nasal deviations: Straightening the appearance of the nose by camouflaging minor irregularities.
Slight drooping of the nasal tip: Elevating the tip of the nose to give it a more lifted and refined look.
Minor adjustments after a previous surgical rhinoplasty: Addressing residual imperfections or dissatisfactions following a surgical nose job.
The procedure for non-surgical rhinoplasty typically takes around 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the complexity of the changes. Before the injections, a topical numbing cream or a local anesthetic may be applied to minimize discomfort. The filler is then carefully injected into the targeted areas of the nose, using a fine needle or cannula.
The results of non-surgical rhinoplasty are usually visible immediately after the procedure, with minimal downtime or recovery. There may be some swelling or bruising at the injection sites, but this generally subsides within a few days.
It’s important to note that non-surgical rhinoplasty has limitations and may not be suitable for everyone. It is not recommended for individuals seeking significant changes to the size or structure of their nose or for those with functional issues such as breathing difficulties. In such cases, a traditional surgical rhinoplasty might be more appropriate.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty results are temporary, as the body gradually absorbs the injected filler over time. The duration of the effects varies from person to person but generally lasts between 6 to 12 months. If the patient is satisfied with the results and wishes to maintain them, follow-up treatments will be required.
As with any cosmetic procedure, it is crucial to have non-surgical rhinoplasty performed by a skilled and experienced medical professional to ensure safety and achieve natural-looking results. The injector will discuss the patient’s goals and expectations during a consultation and determine if non-surgical rhinoplasty is the right option for them.
